Introduction To The Diamond System 3 Cushion Billiards

The diamond system is the main reference system of the 3 cushion billiards. Since the pool table has a rectangular shape, the cue ball’s movements are not always the same.

On the cue ball second cushion third cushion and third cushion fourth cushion lines;
a) 1/1 it moves
b) Shortening
c) Elongation

This is very important and all billiard players must learn them.

There are steepness coefficients to keep the system formula constant and not to give erroneous results to the arrival points. It is valid only for 4 cushion and above. There are no orthogonalness coefficients in 3-cushion shots.

Now let’s move on to the figures that make up the diamond system.

Diamond System Figures

Starting Points: The points lined on the long cushion are the 45 shot. Each diamond is 5 points. The points listed on the short cushion are the 50 shots. Each diamond is 10 points. After the second diamond, 1/2 diamond is 10 points.

Arrival Points 3 Cushion: Up to the fourth diamond, each diamond is 10 points. Then 1/2 diamond 10 points.

Arrival Points 4 Cushion: The back side of the band that the cue ball first touches on is the 4 band arrival points. It starts from the second diamond and each diamond is 10 points. After 30 points, 1/2 diamond is 10 points. After 50 points, 1/4 diamond is 10 points.

Arrival Points 6 Cushion: It starts from the second diamond and every 1/3 diamond is 5 points. After the corner, every 1/4 diamond is 10 points.

Aiming Points: Starting 50 points, the opposite corner with 0 points. Each diamond is 10 points. After 50 points, every 1/2 diamond is 10 points.

Steep Coefficients: 50~64 no steepness. Starting 45 2,5~5. Depending on which player the player has, it can use it. It is related to the effect the player gives to the cue ball. Starting 70~80, 7~10.Diamond System Calculation
